Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is committed to providing patients and families impacted by Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome with the best support and resources available as they navigate this incredibly difficult journey.
Earlier this year, many members of our patient and family community participated in a survey to determine the need for a new Peer Support Program and we received the following results:
In response to this feedback, in August Maddie’s Vision launched a dedicated Peer Support Program for patients and families living with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. The program is facilitated by a trained peer moderator and is clinically supported by our Telehealth Nurse. It offers a safe and confidential environment for participants to share their lived experiences, discuss challenges, offer advice on navigating the treatment journey, and share the resources and services that have made a difference in their lives.
This program will be piloted over the next six months with a monthly and bimonthly session. The first few sessions have already generated some important discussions and given patients and families a much-needed avenue for emotional support from those going through a similar journey. We look forward to sharing the results of the program after the pilot!
