New Fellowship Opportunities

Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is proud to announce three Fellowship opportunities in our 2026 Grant Round, designed to accelerate research and improve outcomes for patients and families affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

We are seeking outstanding researchers and clinicians across scientific, medical, nursing, and allied health disciplines to advance understanding, improve care, and translate discoveries into real-world benefits for patients and families.

Together, these Fellowships will support the next generation of Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome leaders — driving discovery, improving care, and strengthening collaboration across Australia and internationally.

1. General Fellowship

This opportunity supports research spanning fundamental science through to translational research. The Fellowship aims to advance understanding of Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and improve patient outcomes through innovative science and care.

Funding available: up to AUD $100,000 per year for 3 years

2. International Travel Fellowship

Designed to strengthen global collaboration, this Fellowship enables Australian researchers to train or conduct research at leading international institutions—bringing new knowledge and expertise back to Australia to advance Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome research and care. It aims to build international partnerships, foster knowledge exchange, and enhance national capability.

Funding available: up to AUD $100,000 per year for 3 years

3. Fiona Riewoldt Nursing and Allied Health Fellowship

Named in honour of Fiona Riewoldt, this Fellowship supports research that enhances supportive care, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing for patients and families affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. It focuses on nursing and allied health innovations that deliver real-world benefits for patients, families, and carers.

Funding available: up to AUD $50,000 per year for 3 years

Past Opportunities

Applications have now closed for the Children’s Cancer CoLab and Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision Clinician-Researcher Fellowship

This fellowship will invest up to $250,000 to foster the next generation of clinical leaders who will improve outcomes for children and families affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and childhood cancer.

Up to $250,000 over two years will be available and one clinician-researcher fellowship will be awarded.
