ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

The Symposium Steering Committee warmly invites abstracts on all aspects of basic, translational and clinical research relating to Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes, including disease mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment, supportive care and patient and family outcomes. Submissions from students and early-career researchers are particularly encouraged.

A limited number of abstracts will be selected for short oral presentations at the Symposium. Submissions that align with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision’s Five Pillars of Research will be viewed favourably.

Abstract Criteria

  • Abstracts must present original work
  • The presenting author must be listed as an author on the abstract
  • The presenting author must be available to attend and present in person at the Symposium in Brisbane
  • Presenting authors of accepted abstracts will be required to register for the Symposium
  • Submission of an abstract indicates consent for it to be published in the Symposium program and on Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision’s website if accepted

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Travel funding is not available for accepted presenters

Abstract Format and Submission

Please prepare your abstract using the Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision abstract template:

Abstracts must:

  • Be no more than 300 words, excluding the title, authors, affiliations and references
  • Use standard abbreviations only, with any non-standard abbreviations written in full at first mention
  • Be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.docx)
  • Use the following filename format:
    Surname_FirstName_Symposium2027_Abstract.docx

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by Friday 19 February 2027.

Successful presenters must confirm their acceptance and register for the Symposium by 30 March 2027. Presentation duration and audiovisual requirements will be provided with the acceptance notification.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the Symposium Steering Committee. Submission does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
