Coca-Cola Australia Foundation grant in memory of Jack

We’re thrilled to announce that Maddie’s Vision has been awarded a Coca-Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) grant, which we applied for in memory of Jack McIlvar, who passed away from Aplastic Anaemia in 2021.

Jack’s fiancée Hannah recently shared their story, which resonated with many people in our community who have experienced the loss of a loved one from a Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome. Shortly after Hannah shared her experience, her father Darren supported Maddie’s Vision to apply for an Employee Connected Grant through the CCAF. The Employee Connected Grant Program supports local causes and charities connected to Coca-Cola employees in Australia.

We were honoured that the CCAF selected Maddie’s Vision as one of its Employee Connected Grant Partners, donating $10,000 to our Bone Marrow Biology Centre for Research Excellence, supporting research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. This grant will help Maddie’s Vision drive forward translational Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome research – improving diagnosis, finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure.

Amy Coote, Maddie’s Vision CEO, says: “Like Jack, patients and families living with Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome need better options, and that’s why Maddie’s Vision is here. Maddie’s Vision will fight for better treatment and support options for all patients impacted by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and their families. Thank you to CCAF for awarding Maddie’s Vision this grant, and thank you to Hannah and Darren for their incredible dedication to raising awareness and vital funds for Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome research and support in memory of Jack.”
