Visy’s Corporate Team Ride to Change Lives in United Energy Around the Bay

October 2025

For more than 10 years, Visy’s Corporate Team, led by their passionate captain Mark Mason, have been coming together to ride in United Energy Around the Bay.  The team’s passion for cycling is matched by their commitment to making a difference. For the past three years, Visy has proudly supported Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, raising vital funds to help drive critical research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and provide essential support services to patients and their families.

Backed by the incredible generosity of the Pratt Foundation, the Visy team have raised more than $4,000 this year alone, helping Maddie’s Vision create real and lasting change for those faced with these devastating, life-threatening conditions.

What makes this team so special? Mark describes it as a culture of “something everyone can take part in”. United Energy Around the Bay truly is a ride for everyone. At Visy, some riders are committed to their Lycra year-round, while others dust off their bikes just for this occasion. No matter your level, the team motto is the same: go at your own pace and enjoy the ride. As Mark often reminds them, “It will be the easiest 100km you’ll ever do!”

Over the years, Visy has embraced a variety of fundraising strategies to fuel their success. From creative onsite activations to sharing their story widely to inspire donations, they’ve shown there’s no single formula for success – just passion, persistence, and teamwork.

Their journey offers valuable lessons for all our teams:

  • Be bold in sharing your story. People want to support your efforts when they see your passion.
  • Find your motivators. Whether it’s the challenge, the camaraderie, or the cause, harness it to keep your team going.
  • Celebrate inclusivity. Make it possible for everyone, experienced riders and casual cyclists alike, to join in.

We are deeply grateful to Mark, the Visy team, and the Pratt Foundation for their unwavering support and commitment. The team’s dedication will no doubt help them ride strongly to the finish line on the day, while their phenomenal fundraising efforts are changing lives and bringing hope to patients and families living with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
