Returning for its second year, the 2026 National Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome Awareness Week will take place from 2–8 March, aiming to build national awareness of Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and their life-threatening impact on thousands of families across Australia.
Australians are being encouraged to help save lives by donating blood via Lifeblood or registering as a stem cell donor via Stem Cell Donors Australia. Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome patients often rely on regular blood transfusions to stay alive, and a stem cell transplant can offer their only chance of a cure. Finding a suitable donor match can be extremely difficult and many Australians rely on donors from overseas. That’s why every new blood donor and new stem cell donor registration matters.
Anyone can get involved in National Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome Awareness Week. Raise your voice and help spread the word by visiting the Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision Resource Hub and sharing our National Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome Awareness Week assets on social media.
