Caring for a loved one with a Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome can be a difficult and emotional journey for the entire family. 

If you are making decisions on behalf of a child or a person you are caring for, finding trustworthy and accurate information can you help communicate and ask questions to make informed decisions along with your loved one’s medical team.

Our free Tele-Support Service Nurse service provides information, support and advice to carers.  Our Tele-Support Nurse Consultation Service will assist you to:

  • Understand more about Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes
  • Discuss the treatment options usually available 
  • Learn about symptom management for both immunosuppressant therapy and bone marrow transplantation
  • Understand the purposes of self-managed treatment and care plan
  • Advice on building relationships with the patient’s medical team
  • Refer to required clinical specialists including allied health care professionals
  • Connect to support groups and related community and non-profit organisations
  • Refer to resources that might provide cultural/religion, education, emotional and financial support
  • Receive up to date clinical information
