Michelle’s Greatest Shave raises over $63,000!

What began as one mother’s promise to her daughter became an extraordinary show of love, strength and community, with Michelle’s Greatest Shave now raising more than $63,000 for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.

When Michelle’s daughter, Chantelle, was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anaemia in 2025, she made a promise – if Chantelle ever needed a stem cell transplant, she would shave her head and raise funds to help drive research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

After responding well to initial treatment, sadly Chantelle relapsed earlier this year and received the devastating news that she would require a stem cell transplant.

On 27 June, Michelle fulfilled her promise, with 10 family members and friends joining her to shave their heads in support of Chantelle and raise vital funds to accelerate research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

The response from the community has been nothing short of remarkable, with the fundraising total continuing to grow well beyond the day itself. Every dollar raised will help drive research forward and bring us closer to better treatments, better outcomes and, ultimately, a cure.

To Michelle and Chantelle, thank you for so generously sharing your family’s story and allowing our community to be part of your journey. Michelle, you are an inspirational force! Your determination to make a difference for Chantelle and others affected by these conditions is extraordinary.
