Craig Nichol

Craig Nichol is a medical student at Deakin University with a strong interest in haematology and bone marrow failure syndromes. Prior to studying medicine, he completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) and undertook a research placement at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, gaining exposure to research focused on acute myeloid leukaemia and multiple myeloma.

Craig’s interest in bone marrow failure syndromes is both professional and personal, having seen firsthand the impact of aplastic anaemia through his partner’s treatment journey. This experience has strengthened his commitment to improving awareness, education and outcomes for patients and families affected by these conditions.

Alongside his medical studies, Craig has extensive experience leading teams, engaging stakeholders and developing educational and communication materials for diverse audiences. He is passionate about making complex information accessible and supporting initiatives that improve knowledge, earlier recognition and patient care for people affected by bone marrow failure syndromes.
