Alexandra Rivalland is a Nurse Practitioner specialising in allogeneic stem cell transplantation and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. With over a decade of experience in haematology and bone marrow transplantation, she has held clinical, leadership and advanced practice roles including Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Associate Nurse Unit Manager and GvHD Clinical Nurse Consultant.
Alexandra has a strong interest in patient-centred care, quality improvement, research and service development. She has authored and co-authored multiple national and international conference presentations and publications, with research focusing on transplantation, infection, survivorship and caregiver support. She is an active contributor to nursing education, a regular invited speaker at professional and patient forums, and a member of HSANZ and ANZTCT.
In addition to her clinical work, Alexandra is the founder and host of the Straight and Marrow Podcast, which aims to educate and support patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals involved in allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
