2024 Patient and Family Educational Session – Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia

We are excited to announce that registrations are now open for the 2024 Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision Patient and Family Educational Session on Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia.

This session will be held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday 31 July, 7.30 pm – 8.30 pm.

We are delighted to have secured the following experts who will provide an introduction to Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia and an overview of the latest research and treatments for this condition.

Associate Professor Amee George,  Australian National University

Associate Professor Amee George is a Group Leader in the Genome Science and Cancer Division and leads the ANU Centre for Therapeutic Discovery (ACTD) at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at The Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.

Dr Pasquale Barbaro, Queensland Children’s Hospital

Dr Pasquale (Paddy) Barbaro is a Paediatric Haematologist at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane Australia. Pasquale undertook his Haematology training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and has worked as a locum Haematologist at both the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne before taking up the position at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The event will include two presentations from our guest speakers, followed by a 30-minute question and answer session to address patient and family queries regarding diagnosis and treatments for Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia.
