Maddie's Match #3 July 20th 2018
Maddie’s Match will again be one of the highlights of St Kilda’s season, with the game set down for a Friday night blockbuster on Friday July 20.
The Saints, Richmond and broader football community will again come together to support Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.
The foundation was established in 2015 following the passing of Maddie Riewoldt, sister of St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt, and aims to raise much needed funds to find a cure for Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
The previous two instalments of Maddie’s Match have produced stunning scenes with Etihad Stadium transformed into a sea of purple.
Close-to-capacity crowds have squashed into the ground on both occasions with the Tigers and Saints one-win apiece from the two games.
Riding a wave emotion and led by champion Nick Riewoldt, the Saints made last season’s Maddie’s Match in Round 16 a night to remember.
Alan Richardson’s men put the eventual premiers to the sword in the first half, before running out 67-point winners.
Off the field, the night was just as memorable with Melbourne rockers, British India, performing a set inside the arena, and limited edition mechanise selling out as Saints and Tiger fans got behind MRV and the Riewoldt family.
