Leigh Montagna started playing football at the Northern Knights Football club in Preston, Victoria. In 2001 Leigh was drafted to St Kilda Football Club where he played 287 and 16 seasons including 3 Grand Finals and represented Australia on 3 International Rules series.
Leigh played alongside and shared a locker next to great friend, and team mate Nick Riewoldt for that whole 16 years.
Leigh and his family have been friends of the Riewoldt family for over 18 years. Leigh’s wife Erinn was also a friend of Maddie. Leigh and Erinn have a young son Noah and Nick is a proud godfather to Noah.
After his retirement in 2017, Leigh now works in the media for Triple M and Fox Sports and commentates the AFL and AFLW for Triple M radio and Fox Footy.
Leigh is also working in football as an opposition analyst. He lives in Albert Park and has a spoodle Alfie, loves socialising with friends, going to nice restaurants and is also into most sports, including being a keen golfer.
